Where you fit

Many ways to help

Some of these take a day on site with a pair of gloves & boots. Others take time at home or at the CFH office.

Build days

Many volunteers arrive with little or no construction experience. Site team leaders plan each day’s work around the skills available, supervise the crew, maintain volunteer safety, review the quality of the work, and secure the project site at the end of the day.

Skilled trades

Licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, roofers, and general contractors who can donate a day or bid at cost. This is our single biggest need.

Event crew

Registration tables, water stations, course marshals, setup and teardown. Great for groups, students, and first-time volunteers.

Welcome-home teams

Stock a finished home with groceries, bedding, and essentials before the family walks in. Two hours, enormous effect.

Professional skills

Grant writing, accounting, translation, photography, occupational therapy, benefits counseling, and legal aid — remote-friendly.

Peer mentors

Veterans and first responders who'll take a call from someone in the middle of it. Training and supervision provided.

Before your first shift

Volunteer documents

Read the handbook and bring a signed release. Every volunteer signs one; anyone under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian to sign for them.

Volunteer Release Form — Adults

Liability release and photo consent for volunteers 18 and over. Fill it in and send it to us online, or print it and bring the signed copy to your first shift.

Volunteer Release Form — Minors

Required for every volunteer under 18, signed by a parent or legal guardian. Minors work alongside an adult on site at all times.

Submitting an online form sends it straight to us over an encrypted connection, and you'll see a confirmation page. You'll type your name as your signature. If you'd rather work on paper, download the PDF, print it, and bring the signed copy to your first shift. Either way works.

Bringing a group?

Companies, congregations, service clubs, and student groups all run build days with us. Tell us how many people and we will size a project to fit.
