The undersigned minor, being under 18 years of age, has volunteered to work with Connections for Heroes, Inc., a nonprofit corporation ("Connections for Heroes"), to assist in the renovation, repair, and construction of homes for veterans, first responders, and their families, in anticipation of increasing hope, safety, and stability for the homeowners we serve. The undersigned must be the parent or legal guardian of the minor. Connections for Heroes is committed to the highest safety standards in all of its work. By the nature of construction work performed to renovate or build these homes, risks — both foreseeable and unforeseeable — are involved. By signing this Release and Indemnification, both the minor and the parent or legal guardian acknowledge that they understand this. Therefore, intending to be legally bound, the minor and parent or legal guardian hereby agree that on behalf of themselves and their heirs, successors, and assigns:
- To have reviewed the volunteer policies and procedures found in the Connections for Heroes Volunteer Handbook.
- To assume the risk of injury and damage to personal property resulting from the volunteer's association with Connections for Heroes.
- To indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Connections for Heroes and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and contractors, and their successors and assigns, from and against any and all claims, costs, damages, and causes of action arising from any injury to the volunteer or damage to their personal property which occurs as a result of the volunteer's association with Connections for Heroes, even if the personal injury or property damage is caused by the negligence of others.
- To irrevocably release, waive, and forever discharge Connections for Heroes, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and contractors, and their successors, from and against any and all claims, costs, damages, and causes of action asserted by any person or entity, and arising from any personal injury or property damage caused by the volunteer.
This release and waiver of liability agreement is a requirement for participation in any Connections for Heroes project. The scope of this agreement is not limited by time or location and is binding upon the volunteer throughout the volunteer's association with Connections for Heroes.
Digital photos and video may be taken during build days by our volunteer photographers for use on our website and other promotional materials. If you do not want your photo or video used, please inform the photographer on site.
