Apply for Assistance

You served. Asking is not a weakness — it's the fastest route to a fix. Ten minutes here, a real person within 10 working days.

Eligibility

Who we can help.

  • Veterans of any era of U.S. military service, with any discharge characterization other than dishonorable. Guard and Reserve included.
  • First responders — active or retired firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS providers, and 911 dispatchers, career or volunteer.
  • Family members — spouses, domestic partners, primary caregivers, and dependent children of either group, including surviving family.

What also has to be true

  • You own the home, or hold a lease with at least 12 months remaining and written landlord consent for modifications.
  • Household income and assets fall within program limits — these are generous and we'd rather you apply than self-disqualify.
  • The property is a primary residence in a state where we currently operate. Not sure? Apply and we'll tell you.

Documents that speed things up

Bring what you have; we'll help you get the rest. Nothing below is required to start an application.

  • DD-214, NGB-22, VA benefits letter, or retiree ID
  • Department ID, pension statement, or letter from your chief for first responders
  • Deed, mortgage statement, or lease
  • Recent proof of household income
  • Photos of the problem, if it's a repair or accessibility request

What happens after you submit

  1. Within 10 working days — a case manager calls or emails you. A person, not an autoresponder.
  2. Week 2–3 — intake conversation and service verification.
  3. Week 3–5 — home assessment, if your request involves the property.
  4. Week 5–7 — written scope, funding decision, and a start date.

If we can't help, we'll tell you clearly and refer you to organizations that can. You will never be left wondering.

3 · What you need
Which programs are you asking about? *

There's no wrong way to write this. A few sentences is plenty.

A DD-214, a lease, or photos of the problem. Nothing here is required to apply — send them later if it is easier.

4 · Your home

Your application goes straight to our case-management inbox over an encrypted connection. If you would rather not fill this in online, call 484-320-7564 and a case manager will take your application over the phone.
